Remember Childhood?

Cause if you’re like me, you not only remember childhood, but you remember reading R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps series. Well guess what. . .

From the New York Times:

“That’s when I started to scream” may be the most frequently used chapter ending in the hugely successful children’s horror series “Goosebumps,” which a decade ago catapulted Mr. Stine to prominence. Now, for the first time in eight years, during which Mr. Stine tried his hand at creating other series, he is back with a fresh “Goosebumps.”

How awesome is that!? I remember pouring over these books when I was a kid. There was one about a dummy, and one about a camera or something like that. (Guess they don’t have great staying power).

The only thing I have to say about this is to ask the Times why they put this story on the FRONT PAGE of the Arts section. I mean, I liked Goosebumps as much as the next guy, but the front page of the Arts? I mean, its not like J.D. Salinger is writing something new. I guess the Arts editor just really liked Goosebumps.

(oh yeah, make sure you read the whole article so you don’t miss the part where Stephen King compares R.L. Stine to John the Baptist, and J.K. Rowling to Jesus)
