Let’s Hear It For A Loophole

Posted in joe lieberman, jon stewart, pictures, random on November 20, 2008 by pgleason85

So yeah, my last day at work has officially moved up to tomorrow, leftover sick time plus a shortened week thanks to thanksgiving will come in handy. So yeah, just a heads up, bloggings will be sparse ’round these parts next week.  What with the extremely sloth-like lifestyle I will revel in for like 5 days plus the criminal amount of turkey, stuffing, not to mention the pumpkin pies I’m going to eat, I may just not find a lot of time to write words.  So yeah, I got that going for me.

Hrm, so what else is there to talk about.  I could continue going on about Twilight, but that’ll just make me mad and I’ll need to breathe into a paper bag to calm down.  As I am sans paper bag I think that would be a very bad idea.  Plus, South Park pretty much took care of that topic last night.

I just don’t know, I don’t have that much to complain about, and nothing fun or exciting (read: drunk and entertaining to others) has happened to me in the past few weeks.  No hilarious incidents dealing with coagulated milk products on top of deep fried spud slices.  Nothing even remotely entertaining.

I could mention that they’re going to cut the express service on the subway line i ride, but that would get me the same response that a discussion of teenage abstinence vampires would, and no one wants to see that happen. Especially not me.

Hey, would you look at that. My almer matter [sic..but on purpose cause I’m hilarious], Fordham, was mentioned on Deadspin!  What did they say about it?  Ahhh crap.

Sorry guys, I guess I’m just not that interesting.  But I do know how to drive page views up!  Pictures of animals!  Here’s my roomates dog (who, by the transative property of dog owernship/apartment sharing, I live with) with Jon Stewart (yaaay) and Joe Lieberman (boooo).

Its A Theme Week

Posted in halloween, pictures, random on October 28, 2008 by pgleason85

Yeah, I’m going to make every post this week about Halloween.  I honestly have no idea why I am so into Halloween this year, but for what ever reason you guys are just going to have to deal with it.

Today’s topic, the back pocket costume.  There are a lot of people that just plain aren’t into Halloween, and that is totally understandable.  Hell, the only two comments on yesterday’s post expressed dissinterest in Halloween, (as well as a dissinterest in spelling Halloween correctly…although i think in paula79’s case it may be a weird European thingamajig)  Still, even if your not into Halloween or have no plans, something may spring up at the last second.  Especially with this Halloween landing on a Friday (oh sweet Friday).  So you have to be prepared, because you don’t want to show up at a party wrapped in toilet paper.

Your first step is to determine what materials do you have at your disposal in case the drunk phone rings.  Do you have 47 rolls of duct tape and are an accomplished tailor?  Boom…Duct Tape suit, costume done

So if your everyone that hasn’t been on Project Runway this costume is probably not a viable option, and again, you don’t want to haphazardly wrap yourself in duct tape.  Also, if your like me and of the hairy persuasion duct tape costumes can be a torture on the level of waterboarding with cayenne pepper sauce, so yeah.  Duct tape is out.

So you now must assess your wardrobe.  Do you have any shirts/pants/skirts/dresses/garter belts/underpants/socks that look like they belong on any character from any movie or TV show over the last 100 years?  For example, do you own a white t-shirt, green sweater vest and khaki shorts?  Boom, you can dress as Doug Funnie…costume complete.  (also have a belt, extra underpants and a red towel…quailman!) And that is just one any thousands of fringe pop-culture possibilities that exist out there!

If your still stuck, grab your interview suit and throw that shit on.  Now, are you male?  If so get the following items:

  • Cigarette
  • Rye Whiskey
  • Shit Tons of Hair Gel

Now you can dress as any character from Mad Men

Now if you are female and wearing your interview suit.  Is it a pants suit?  If so that one is waaaaay too easy to even say.  Okay, honestly, I have no idea what you could pull off in your regular suit if your a lady.  But I’m sure there’s some way girls could slut it up and then your sexy business women…problem solved.

Well that’s about all I have on this.  Hope this guide helps all you naysayers who think going out dressed up in costume into your twenties is lame (which it totally is) to at least plan ahead in case something comes up at the last second.  Cause you really, really don’t want to resort to this.

(oh how I love google images)

So I Didn’t Post Today

I had a loooong and eventful weekend.  I went to both Saturday’s and Sunday’s Yankee games and it has left my exhausted.  Sitting outside in 95 degree heat for 4 hours drinking can take a lot out of you (well i didn’t drink in the stadium saturday, but whatever. damn bleachers).  It was awesome, and I am going to miss that place.  i’ll probably wind up getting to maybe two more games this year, but its not enough.  But yeah, i’m pooped (hehe). To make it up to you, here is the essex st sign at 4am thurs night/friday morning that i noticed after Batman.  Needless to say, I thought this was hilarious.

hehe (and I uploaded myself, so it won’t turn into gay porn)

Fridizzle for Shiz…God I am So White It Hurts

Sorry there, i was trying to be funny in my title.  I missed the mark by about as much as you possibly could.  My bad.

So despite my goofy mood I think I am going to take it easy this weekend.  Well definitely tonight at least.  I’m going to hang back and not go too crazy.  I’ll probably spend it at the ‘rents house, so we’ll see how it goes. I’m expecting some reaaaalllyy big news at some point next week so it would do me good to relax for a bit.

So Jayme just forwarded me video of the dumbest criminal of all time. I mean, I thought the guy who fell through the ceiling and couldn’t get out of the store was dumb, but this guy story tops him 10 fold. I don’t want to spoil it, but I will, he attempts to rob a store with (essentially) a leaf.  Not too bright.

I wish my office was like this, although I don’t have to wear a tie, so I guess that’s a plus.

So the Yankees are the hottest team in baseball right now.  Yeah, thats right.  Thats nice to be able to type out.  Mussina is pitching better than anyone else in the American League, and they’re tearing through a weak NL schedule.  I just hope the momentum they’re getting will carry over to when they start playing real teams again (thinly veiled blast at the National League as well as something to point to when they collapse and say “see, i wasn’t dellusional”)

I can’t remember if I linked to this yesterday.  I suppose I could check…hang on there…nope! I didn’t link to this Random Roles interview with Billy West. Who is Billy West?  He was the voice of this guy:

and this guy:

and:

amongst other things.  But its a really good interview, and you should read it.

Well that’s it for now.  Maybe I’ll drop some knowledge on you foo….oh forget it.  I’m really lame

Hey…Look At That!

I was walking up eight avenue to meet up with some friends after work.  For some reason there was a lot of people looking up and pointing.  I looked up, and low and behold, I saw this:

Thats a dude climbing the NYTimes building. To clarify, I saw the second guy climbing, not the first.

You probably can’t tell, but if you look really closely you can see in that handy circle i drew there’s a dude there.  He was really high up.  Woah!
